Ptown’s second summer is in full swing!
The main events in Ptown this weekend focus on theater and community.
Additionally, the sunny forecast also give you an opportunity to walk one of the many beaches, the jetty, and Beech Forest in the National Seashore Park. Or just enjoy a meal at one of the many restaurants or cafes that offer outdoor seating!
Tennessee Williams Theater Festival
Thu, 9/21 – Sun, 9/24
What: The annual four day festival presents Tennessee Williams’ plays from around the world using the entire town as a stage to perform William’s work. Celebrity events and parties make this a great time in the charming village that once inspired Tennessee’s work.
The 2017 Tennessee Williams Theater Festival will feature the works of William Shakespeare. See list of shows.

Pet Appreciation Weekend
Sat, 9/23 & Sun, 9/24
What: This weekend is perfect for every pet owner and their beloved pets. It includes the annual Dog Show and Canine Games as well as a pet parade, costume contests at the Pet Tea Dance, blessing for animals and more. All proceeds benefit the Carrie A. Seaman Animal Shelter. (CASAS)
Where: All over Provincetown!
There are two wonderful and inspiring community events on Saturday, 9/23 – both involving bicycles!
What: Approximately 40 Wounded Warriors soldiers, all of whom have been in the Afghanistan and Iraq wars and have returned home with significant physical challenges, will ride recumbent bikes from the North Truro Air Base to MacMillan Pier. Directions
When: Sat, 9/23
- 9:30 am: Ride begins at North Truro Air Base
- 10:15 – 10:30: Soldiers arrive at MacMillan Pier. Directions
- 10:30: Ceremony with the Ptown Town Manager and Selectmen, and Rep. Sarah Peake.
What: During this one-day bike ride, participant bike between 68 to 125 miles from Boston to Provincetown to raise money that benefits organization providing much needed care and support to people with AIDS. 100% of all proceeds go directed to AIDS-related charities. Donate Now!
When: Sat, 9/23
Where: Cyclists ride through town on Commercial St beginning in early evening (6 pm). Be sure to come out and cheer them for their efforts! This is their 14th year!
