Carnival Week is THE summer event

While the week’s biggest event is the Carnival Parade, no one waits to wear a costume! The entire week is an opportunity to celebrate. Carnival Pride Flag Raising Ceremony

Join this annual event that kicks off Carnival Week.

When: August 13th, 2017, 10:00am

Where: Provincetown Pilgrim Monument, 1 High Pole Hill

Sun, 8/13

Sunset Cruise: God’s of Love Sunset Boat Cruise

You never know what you’ll see as you dance to beats of DJ Lee Thornhill. Sponsored by Bay State Cruises, Cape Cod 5 & Seamens Bank. Special Guest TBA!

When: Sun, 8/14, 4:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Where: Macmillan Pier (Center of Town) | Directions

Cost: $25.00 (we sell out fast – buy early!)

Costume Ball: Mount Olympus Gods and Goddesses

Get in a costume and join the Carnival opening party. The party starts at poolside at the Wave Bar with the costume contest from 8:30 – 10 pm. The costume theme is Mt Olympus Gods and Goddesses.

  • First Prize: $500 and ride on the Guild’s Carnival Float
  • Second Prize: $200 and ride on the Guild’s Carnival Float

The party then continues next door with dancing at the Paramount until 1 am.

When: August 13th, 2017. Costume Contest: 8:30 – 10 pm; Dancing: 10 pm – 1 am

Mon, 8/14

Marketplace: Arts, Crafts, DIY and Vintage Wares

When: August 14, 2017, 12:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Where: Bas Relief (On Bradford Street behind Provincetown Town Hall)

Cost: Free

Pool Party: Poseidon’s Playground Carnival Pool Party

Provincetown Carnival’s hottest pool party is back, complete with Greek God décor for this year’s Carnival theme: Gods & Goddesses. And speaking of Greek gods, this year’s party host is Trenton Ducati, with music by DJ Andy Morris.

When: August 14, 2016, 2:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Where: Brass Key Guesthouse, 67 Bradford Street | Directions

Cost: Tickets are $25.00 (until 7/31/); $35.00 (after 8/1 & at door) | Included with VIP Pass

Tue, 8/15

Cocktail Party: Temple of Love Party at the Watership Inn

Join this annual cocktail party before heading over to Tea Dance. (Watership Inn is just down the street from Tea Dance!) Cocktails, beer, wine, light food will be available.

When: August 15, 2017, 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Sunset Dune Tour and Wine & Cheese Reception

VIP PASS #1 Holders ONLY

During this 2 hour tour, you’ll experience the beautiful National Seashore dunes up close that only Art’s Dune Tours provides. Their fleet of vehicles takes you into areas of the seashore that are closed to regular traffic, giving you an up-close view of the famous dune shacks and the Peaked Hill Life Saving Station, and their guides provide the history of these protected shores. Along the way, you’ll stop for a Wine & Cheese Reception and see one of the most beautiful sunsets on the East Coast.

Dance Party: Adonis at the A-house: Beauty & Desire

Resident DJ and Billboard Magazine reporter David LaSalle spins the music at Ptown’s iconic dance club.

When: August 15, 2017, 10:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.

Where: A House, 6 Masonic Place | Directions

Cost: $10.00. Benefits PBG’s Carnival & The Provincetown AIDS Support Group | Included with VIP Pass

Wed, 8/16

Dance Party: The Great Hall of the Gods & Goddesses Toga Party

Special performances, DJ and Carnival Parade Marshall will be announced soon! Awards for Best Toga Costume and the decorations include living statues!

When: August 16th, 2017, 7pm – 11:00 midnight

Where: Provincetown Town Hall, 254 Commercial St |  Directions

Thu, 8/17

Carnival Parade: The 39th Annual Parade Theme – Gods and Goddesses

Join the thousands of people who line the street, cheering and enjoying the fun–music, candy and necklaces thrown from floats, and wild costumes.

  • When: Thursday, 8/17/17
  • Time: 3:00 – 5:00 pm
  • Where: Harbor Hotel (East End) through the town to Franklin St (West End)

At the end of the parade, next year’s Carnival 2018 theme is announced.

Dance Party: Hot as Hades Leather / Underwear party

When: Thursday, August 17, 2017, 10:30 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.

Fri, 8/18

Dance Party: Zeus King of the Gods Carnival Closing Party

The closing party licks off at 9pm at the Wave Bar, and then moves next door to the Paramount Dance Club with DJ Abel spinning. Special Appearance by Power Infiniti, DJ and performance artist! Power Infiniti’s outrageous costumes (including headdresses that appear to grow out of his head), dancing skills, and choreography have made him an icon in the Circuit scene.

When: August 18, 2017, 9 pm Wave Bar; Dancing begins at 10 pm
