Past Years’ Highlights

Provincetown Carnival

What is Provincetown Carnival Week?

Provincetown Carnival is a weeklong celebration of LGBTQ life–parties, art fairs, a costume ball, and more–and culminates in the Carnival Parade. While the year-round population of Provincetown tops out at 3,000 people, the Carnival Parade attracts nearly 90,000 visitors annually.

Carnival Themes

Each year, the Carnival theme sets the stage for the week’s fun. Participants dress in theme-related costumes all week, but they really go all out for the parade. Residents and guest houses decorate their yards and house fronts to match the theme.

The 2017 theme is God’s and Goddesses. Get some costume ideas!
