Lighting of the Pilgrim Monument, Wed, 11/22 at 6 pm

This annual event has grown to become a favorite holiday tradition on the Cape, with last year’s event drawing over 1,500 visitors. This year, the Monument is dedicating the lighting “ … for everyone who needs a little Light and Love. As a Beacon of Tolerance and Hope for over 100 years, we honor those throughout our world who do not enjoy the Acceptance and Peace we are Thankful for.

The lighting is on Wednesday, November 22. The celebration begins at 5 pm with the lighting occurring at approximately 6 pm. The celebration at the Monument continues through 7 pm.

Admission is free, and light refreshments and entertainment are provided. Parking at the Monument is limited, but there is free parking on Winslow St, in the nearby Grace Hall Parking Lot, and of course the Municipal Parking Lot by Macmillan Wharf. See our parking page for locations and directions.

Because the Monument is located on one of the highest elevations in Provincetown, you can view the lighting from most location. The Monument lights – more than 3,100 – shine nightly through early January.
