New Year in Provincetown – First Light Celebration

Ring in the New Year at the tip of the Cape with Provincetown First Light.

Provincetown comes alive one last time with New Year’s revelers before settling into the winter season.

Restaurants, shops, bars, clubs will all be open. Events in 2018/2019 included dancing, special social events, and performers. Thirsty Burlington, Well-Strung, Dina Martina, and Suede are scheduled to perform this year.And there will likely be more to come!

The town’s fireworks display will light up the Provincetown Harbor at dusk – approximately 5:30pm on Sunday, 12/29. Check out the best places to view the display!

Fri, 12/27/19

Marti Gould Cummings

Who: Marti Gould Cummings and his husband Blake Allen bring their show, “2019 is So Over”, a mix comedy and music to Provincetown during New Year’s weekend. Cummings is a NYC based drag artist who performs weekly in NYC. 

Cummings long running Broadway talk show, Stage Fright, has featured over 100 Tony, Emmy, Golden Globe, Grammy, and Oscar winning and nominated guest. Marti is the creator, producer, and star of the Fusion television networks most streamed show Shade: Queens of NYC.

First Light Drag Bingo

What: Join the fun as Tiki Bronstein calls the balls and keeps the laughter going! Get your tickets early, because this event sells out!

Illusions: New Year Show

First Light Provincetown Fireworks

Come see a New Year’s Eve fireworks display that will light up Provincetown Harbor! Fireworks will be launched from MacMillan Pier, but visible multiple locations.

Well-Strung Quartet: Home for the Holidays

Who: Well-Strung – the critically acclaimed singing string quartet – plays a special holiday concert at Provincetown Town Hall.  Well-Strung and their producing partners, Mark Cortale and director Richard Jay-Alexander, have created a special holiday concert showcasing traditional and popular holiday song.

Polar Bear Plunge

What: Take out that summer swimsuit and take the annual Polar Bear Plunge challenge on New Year’s Day 2020! This annual tradition is part of the Provincetown First Light celebrations for New Years Weekend. Registration proceed benefit the Center For Coastal Studies. And if you don’t want to take the plunge, come on down and cheer on those brave plungers! There will be a DJ, music and a guest emcee, as well as coffee, tea, hot chocolate.
