If you’re planning to visit in Ptown during the summer of 2019, Provincetown’s vibrant music scene offers plenty of options with a variety of national and local performers! Venues are starting to announce performers for Summer 2019. Here’s the list so far.

Coffeehouse At The Mews

What: Each Monday, the Coffeehouse highlights a local Cape performer. The night also includes an open mic session for writers, playwrights, poets, singers, songwriters, and comedians. See the list of 2018 – 2019 performers. Open mic performers who wish to perform should sign up at 6:30pm.

When: Through May 13, 2019

Melissa Crispo

Who: Melissa Crispo’s powerhouse voice is a cross between Melissa Etheridge, Sheryl Crow and Stevie Nicks. Whether performing solo or with her band, Melissa’s instinctive nature to capture an audience with her passionate lyrics are the main reason that her fan-base stretches throughout the state of Florida and beyond. Crispo has gained quite the following after being a part of The Melissa Etheridge Cruise for the past three years. Crispo has also opened for such acts as STYX, Sophie B. Hawkins & Jefferson Starship.

Who: Beth Malone – Tony Nominee for Fun Home – will perform for two nights only in the Broadway @ The Art House series.

Who: Folk-rock singer/songwriter Melissa Ferrick is an eight-time Boston Music Award winner and regarded by the industry and her peers as one of the most prolific and hardworking artists in the business. She has shared the stage with Morrissey, Marc Cohn, Paul Westerberg, Bob Dylan, Dan Bern, Ani DiFranco, k.d. Lang, The Indigo Girls and many others.

Steve Grand

Who: Steve Grand’s first music video, All-American Boy, tells the story of unrequited love between two men, and took the internet storm when it was released. Since then, Grand has been touring nationally and internationally, using his entertainment platform to advocate for Human Rights and LGBT Equality. Watch Steve’s Youtube channel.

Deven Green with Ned Douglas

Who: Live comedy performer and internet video sensation, Deven Green brings her show, The Human Jukebox, to Provincetown. Devon, along with Ned Douglas will sing songs from the 1920’s to today on electric ukulele and guitar. From mash-ups to sing-a-longs to audience requests there is no genre she can’t tackle. The Las Vegas Beat wrote: This charming internet sensation is a human jukebox on a ukulele! You never know what she will say or play next. On top of it all this girl can sing!

Well Strung String Quartet

Who: Well-Strung – the critically acclaimed singing string quartet – returns to Provincetown for one week only at The Art House.  Their most recent CD titled POPssical debuted at #8 on Billboards Classical Crossover Chart and #9 on Billboards Classical Chart. You may recognize Well-Strung members Christopher Marchant and Trevor Wadleigh on CBS’ The Amazing Race as #TeamWellStrung this past winter.

Linda Lavin

Who: Tony and Golden Globe award winner Linda Lavin returns to Provincetown accompanied by the acclaimed Billy Stritch for 2 shows only.

Linda Lavin is known for her numerous stage performances in many Broadway and Off-Broadway projects like ‘Death Defying Acts’, ‘The Lyons’, ‘Last of the Red Hot Lovers’, ‘Broadway Bound’, ‘Gypsy’, and ‘The Diary of Anne Frank,’ to name a few. And of course, Lavin portrayed the title character in the TV series ‘Alice’.

Who: Young, is a Tony and Grammy winner, multi-Platinum recording artist. As the original “Frankie Valli” in Broadway’s Tony Award-winning Best Musical, Jersey Boys, Young became the only American actor to date to win all four major Broadway Leading Actor in a Musical honors for a Broadway debut: the Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Theatre World Award.

As a concert artist, Young has taken his expertly-curated repertoire of classic pop and R&B to filled-to-capacity rooms, thrilling his audiences with a “disciplined one-in-a-million high tenor shading into falsetto that he can direct through the stratosphere” (The New York Times). John Lloyd Young’s five-star-rated solo album of classic R&B, My Turn…, remains a fan-favorite with several songs from the album requested at each of his live performances.

2019 Summer Concert Series

You can count on these three venues hosting concerts during summer 2019 season.

Summer Concert Series at Herring Cove

This FREE concert series begins in late June and runs through Labor Day, and showcases local musicians every Wednesday and Sunday summer night. Check out list of 2018 performers. Many return every year! Bring a chair, and enjoy a concert with one of Cape Cod’s most beautiful beach and sunset as a backdrop! Food, drinks, beer and wine are available at the Pavilion from Far Land On The Beach.

 

Payomet Performing Arts Center

The Payomet Performing Arts Center an open air pavilion in Truro – is a short 15 minute drive from Ptown. Past performers include Shawn Colvin, Ricki Lee Jones, Darlene Love, Judy Collins, Hot Tuna, and more! Payomet Event Schedule

 

Great Music on Sundays @ 5 Series

The Great Music on Sundays @ 5 Series hosts a different musical program every Sunday.  The music ranges from classical, Broadway, solos and popular music. The Unitarian Universalist Meeting House (“the UU”) includes a Steinway grand piano and a 1850 Holbrook tracker organ.
